N-Gage Emulator?

Miscellaneous Forums/General Discussion/N-Gage Emulator?

Anyone know of a working N-Gage emu? I wan't to have a look at that 3D "Snakes" game that runs on it.

I've tried googling (natch) but haven't had any luck. There seems to be one called GEMU, but I couldn't find a working download.

N-gage emu.... that's plain stupid. Why don't you just draw on graph paper.. it will make the gameplay 300 times better and the FPS will more than double.

There is no N-Gage emulator that I know of. You may wanna try searching for a Symbian emulator, since thats the OS platform that the N-gage (as well as all the Nokia phones) runs on.

Ngage was tragedy with the greatest potential. Too bad....due to bad marketting and poor inital designed scarred it for life. I am looking forward to the next gen n-gage system thats comming out next year though...

BTW, that 3D snakes game is actually pretty freaking cool. It was design by the orignal guy who made the very first Snakes game on the cel-phones back in the 90s.

According to one site (I won't paste the link since it might be a bit dodgy):

N-GAGE ROMS & Nokia N-Gage Emulator

The only way to play N-GAGE roms at this time is using the Nokia NGage hardware. There are no emulators that would let you play downloaded n-gage game rom files on PC.

So I don't know that you'll have any luck finding one. Maybe find a friend who was unfortunate enough to buy an N-Gage or see if you can get one off of eBay or something.

DampeS8N: Thank you for the valuable contribution. That was sarcasm, folks.

Neuro: I'm thinking of doing some kind of 3D snake game and heard Snakes on n-gage is very good. I just wanted to have a peek at it to see what the fuss is about. I certainly don't want to do a straight rip-off of it, though. In fact, I want to see the game so that any ideas I come up with aren't already being used in Snakes. I guess there's bound to be some cross-over, though. :)

Yeah, I came across that, too. However, I think it was dated 2003/4 so I thought things might have changed since then. Apparently not, though. :)

Ditto. P.S. DampeS8N: Snakes is supposed to run at a constant 25FPS.

If it helps, there's a video of it in action here: http://www.n-page.de/videos/snakes.swf

Cheers Wendell! I was looking for a vid. :)

Great game. Really well put together, with loads of new twists.

I love my n-gage. Don't care what anyone says.

there is no next gen NGage system anymore, Nokia clearly stated that some months back. Nokia is focusing on their multimedia handies with game support. No game dedicated platform anymore.

Neuro(Posted 1+ years ago) #11
Yah, sorry thats what I meant. Nokia is going to release a newer technology, that games can be built on. Similar to how the ngage was hanlded.....which was originally a cel-phone technolgy that can actually play games on.

Hence its not exactly a next gen Ngage but newer more powerful stuff...
